Guest violinist Ophir Dahari from the Chicago Youth Symphonys

Ann Pickett Studio & Gallery is thrilled to welcome guest violinist Ophir Dahari at our official gallery opening on Saturday the 13th from 3-4pm.

Ophir Dahari, seventeen and a junior at Highland Park High School, has studied the violin with Jennifer Cappelli for thirteen years. She is the recipient of awards from the Society of American Musicians and De Paul Concerto Festival for Young Performers competitions, and was invited to attend the Boston University Tanglewood Institute and the Heifetz Institute summer programs. Ophir has been selected to perform Scottish Fantasy with Northwest Symphony Orchestra, a recipient of the Paul Vermel Young Artist Award Winner. Ophir has been selected to perform with the National Youth Orchestra for the 2023 North American Tour, where she will have the opportunity to perform with an orchestra of musicians from throughout the country and noted soloists Gil Shaham and Hilary Hahn.

Ophir has been a leading member of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras for eleven years, where she currently serves as a Concertmaster in the Symphony and Chamber Orchestras.

Ms. Dahari, whose family emigrated from Israel, has been invited to perform as a soloist for a program featuring the Violins of Hope, an organization featuring a collection of instruments played by Jewish musicians before and during the Holocaust.

Ophir serves as a young ambassador to the Corde Volanti Chamber Ensemble and is planning to pursue a career in music. In addition to her musical studies, she enjoys swimming, baking, traveling and spending time with her friends and family.
